LP 1968: \u2018ELECTRIC LADYLAND\u2019<\/a><\/b> (Jimi Hendrix Experience<\/i>)<\/div>\n
El 16 de octubre de 1968 se public\u00f3 en Estados Unidos (en el Reino Unido apareci\u00f3 el 25 de octubre) el tercer y \u00faltimo \u00e1lbum de Hendrix<\/i> y su banda Experience<\/i>. Publicado en formato de doble vinilo fue grabado en los reci\u00e9n inaugurados estudios Record Plant<\/i> de Nueva York donde cont\u00f3 con todos los adelantos tecnol\u00f3gicos que se hab\u00edan desarrollado en los estudios de grabaci\u00f3n en los \u00faltimos a\u00f1os. Hendrix experiment\u00f3 hasta el hast\u00edo con ecos, flangers <\/i>y efectos chorus <\/i>y su a menudo exagerado perfeccionismo le llev\u00f3 a repetir innumerables tomas de las pistas instrumentales antes de quedar satisfecho con el resultado (De \u2019Gypsy eyes\u2019 se llegaron a realizar 50 tomas). Esto enerv\u00f3 al productor y m\u00e1nager Chas Chandler<\/i> que observaba adem\u00e1s que las sesiones en el estudio m\u00e1s que un lugar de trabajo se hab\u00edan convertido en fiestas y happenings <\/i>de amigos y aduladores del guitarrista. Fue Hendrix el que apareci\u00f3 finalmente en los cr\u00e9ditos como responsable de la producci\u00f3n. Por otro lado, las relaciones de Jimi con el bajista Noel Redding<\/i> no pasaban por el mejor momento y Hendrix grab\u00f3 varias pistas del bajo en ausencia de Redding<\/i>. Todas estas tensiones no impidieron que Hendrix produjera su mejor trabajo y una de las obras maestras de la era del rock con temas como \u2018Voodoo child\u2019 (con Stevie Winwood<\/i> al \u00f3rgano y Jack Casady<\/i> al bajo), \u2018Crosstown traffic\u2019, \u2018Burning of the midnight lamp\u2019, \u20181983…(A merman I should turn to be)\u2019 y su magn\u00edfica versi\u00f3n del tema de Dylan \u2018All along the watchtower\u2019, alabada por su propio autor. Otros notables colaboradores fueron Dave Mason, Brian Jones, Al Kooper, Chris Wood<\/i> y las Sweet Inspirations<\/i>.<\/div>\n
Tres semanas despu\u00e9s de publicarse el \u00e1lbum ya coronaba las listas Billboard estadounidenses convirti\u00e9ndose en el mayor \u00e9xito comercial de Hendrix y el \u00fanico n\u00ba1 de su carrera. La cubierta del disco cambi\u00f3 seg\u00fan el pa\u00eds. En Estados Unidos apareci\u00f3 con una imagen de Hendrix polarizada en amarillo y rojo y en Europa una fotograf\u00eda de un grupo de 19 mujeres desnudas mirando a c\u00e1mara.
