LP 1980: ‘ZENYATTA MONDATTA’<\/a><\/b> (The Police<\/i>)<\/div>\n
El 3 de octubre de 1980 se public\u00f3 el tercer \u00e1lbum de la banda brit\u00e1nica The Police<\/i>. Grabado en escasas cuatro semanas en los estudios Wisseloord <\/i>en los Pa\u00edses Bajos y finalizado con prisas un d\u00eda antes de emprender una gira mundial, fue producido como los anteriores por Nigel Gray. Conten\u00eda once temas, ocho firmados por Sting<\/i>, entre ellos los dos grandes hits del \u00e1lbum: ‘Don’t stand so close to me’, que recibi\u00f3 un Grammy, y ‘De do do do, de da da da’. El tema instrumental ‘Behind my camel’, escrito por el guitarrista Andy Summers<\/i> tambi\u00e9n obtuvo un Grammy por mejor tema de rock instrumental. Fue n\u00ba1 en el Reino Unido y en Australia. En Estados Unidos fue top5 y a pesar de recibir excelentes cr\u00edticas, es el \u00fanico de los cinco discos de The Police<\/i> que Rolling Stone<\/i> no incluy\u00f3 en su lista de los 500 m\u00e1s grandes \u00e1lbumes de todos los tiempos.<\/div>\n
El nombre del \u00e1lbum -el \u00faltimo en el que usaban una lengua no inglesa-, es un acr\u00f3nimo de: ‘zen’; Jomo Kenyatta (l\u00edder y padre de la independencia de Kenya; la palabra francesa para ‘mundo’: monde, y el t\u00e9rmino Regatta que proced\u00eda de su \u00e1lbum anterior, ‘Regatta De Blanc’.\u00a0\u00a0<\/div>\n

LP 1988: \u2018TALK IS CHEAP\u2019<\/a><\/b> (Keith Richards<\/i>)<\/div>\n
El 3 de octubre de 1988 se public\u00f3 el \u00e1lbum debut en solitario del guitarrista y col\u00edder de los Rolling Stones, Keith Richards<\/i>. Durante los a\u00f1os ochenta las relaciones entre Mick Jagger<\/i> y Keith <\/i>se hab\u00edan tornado muy tensas y ambos discrepaban con la direcci\u00f3n art\u00edstica y musical de la banda. Mientras Jagger <\/i>suger\u00eda adaptarse a los tiempos y a las nuevas tendencias musicales, Richards prefer\u00eda seguir fiel al R&B<\/i> y a su estilo de siempre apelando a las ra\u00edces y la reputaci\u00f3n del grupo. A Richards <\/i>se le acab\u00f3 la paciencia cuando en 1986 Jagger <\/i>prefiri\u00f3 promocionar su \u00e1lbum en solitario en puesto de ir de gira con la banda con su m\u00e1s reciente \u00e1lbum \u2018Dirty Work\u2019. Uno de los m\u00fasicos que hab\u00eda colaborado en \u00e9l, el baterista Steve Jordan <\/i>form\u00f3 equipo compositivo con Richards <\/i>y ambos escribieron once canciones para el primer trabajo en solitario del guitarrista. Las sesiones de grabaci\u00f3n se llevaron a cabo en estudios de Quebec, Montserrat y Bermuda y Keith<\/i>, con el fin de gozar de toda independencia posible, firm\u00f3 con Virgin Records<\/i> y no con Sony Music<\/i>, el sello de los Stones<\/i>. La banda que le acompa\u00f1\u00f3, llamada los X-Pensive Winos<\/i> inclu\u00eda adem\u00e1s de Steve Jordan<\/i> a Waddy Wachtel, Ivan Neville, Charley Drayton<\/i> y colaboraron adem\u00e1s m\u00fasicos como Sarah Dash, Bootsy Collins, Maceo Parker<\/i>, los Memphis Horns<\/i> y Patti Scialfa<\/i>. El \u00fanico Stone invitado a las sesiones fue Mick Taylor<\/i>. Tras publicarse, las cr\u00edticas fueron muy favorables y muchos observaban jocosamente que se trataba del \u201cmejor \u00e1lbum de los Stones en a\u00f1os\u201d<\/i>. \u2018Talk Is Cheap\u2019 se posicion\u00f3 en el top40 en Estados Unidos y en el top25 en el Reino Unido y se extrajeron tres singles: \u2018Take it so hard\u2019, \u2018You don\u2019t move me\u2019 y \u2018Struggle\u2019.\u00a0\u00a0<\/div>\n
