El 21 de septiembre de 1978 se public\u00f3 en Estados Unidos el single ‘Le freak’, de la banda disco y R&B<\/i> Chic<\/i>, formada en 1972 por el guitarrista Nile Rodgers <\/i>y el bajista Bernard Edwards<\/i>. Fue su tercer sencillo y el primero en alcanzar el n\u00ba1 en el Hot100 y en las listas de R&B<\/i>.<\/div>\n
En el texto rinden homenaje al night club<\/i> neoyorquino Studio 54,<\/i> famoso en la \u00e9poca por sus largas colas de entrada, su clientela exclusiva y sus extremadamente descorteses porteros. Precisamente fue uno de estos rudos porteros el que motiv\u00f3 la composici\u00f3n de la canci\u00f3n cuando una v\u00edspera de A\u00f1o Nuevo de 1977, les neg\u00f3 la entrada a Rodgers <\/i>y Edwards<\/i>, quienes hab\u00edan sido invitados a la sala por Grace Jones.<\/i> Esta se olvid\u00f3 de comunicarle al personal de entrada los nombres de sus invitados y los m\u00fasicos se encontraron con un portazo y un sonoro \u00abFuck off!\u00bb<\/i>. M\u00e1s tarde, Rodgers<\/i> admiti\u00f3 en una entrevista que esa fue originalmente la frase del estribillo, pero conscientes de que no lo emitir\u00edan por radio la cambiaron a ‘freak out!’. El a\u00f1o 2018 fue seleccionada por la Biblioteca del Congreso para figurar en el National Recording Registry<\/i> (Registro nacional de grabaciones) por su \u00absignificado, cultural, hist\u00f3rico y art\u00edstico\u00bb<\/i>.<\/div>\n
